HI gab how can I get speed, it seems my finger are in wood, or may be in stone, haven't you got an androïd hand, no ? wha i hope I'll arrive to get speed, with work, work and again work , isn't it ?
Hi Rico! I also had that sensation when I was starting and the unique way to increase your speed is hard work with metronome. However you have to practice the appropiated exercises for this. There are many great technique exercises here in the archive. Check the archieve and let me know if you need help to select the material.

Hi, I just wondered wether you would recommend using the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fingers for the runs where the fretting is 10, 12, 13, or is it just down to personal choice? I 'accidentally'(!) practised this using my index, third, and fourth fingers, and I can pretty well get up to the correct speed! Would you advise not to use the 'pinky' unless necessary? (I guess using the 3rd finger and having the 4th free leaves it available for playing other notes, but in cases like this, I presume it isn't that big a deal). I think I'd better go and practice this how it's shown, just to be on the safe side!!!
You've answered your own question perfectly!

That is a brilliant lesson! Very 'Operation Mindcrime'! I have a question - what makes Queensryche sound like Queensryche? For that matter, what makes any band sound individual enough so that we know who it is after the first 2 notes?! It might seem a wierd question, but all of these bands use the same notes and chords, I guess, so what's their sectret?
Thanks again!
Kevin
Good question! I thing that you should post this at the forum because it would be cool to read everybody's opinion.
I think that it's a sum of things that can be found in many of their compositions. The sound of the guitar, the rhythms used, the scales and tonalities, the guitar technique... When I do these type of lessons I think : What things make the difference between this band and the others of this style?
In this lesson I tried to use the same chord positions and triads that they use, a drum + bass backing that I found in many of Operation Crime`s songs (like "I don't believe in love"), and a similar guitar sound.

Fran29th March 2008I'm wondering the same thing too, I'm practicing the solos with a metronome, and so far I believe the first solo are 16th triplets (6 notes per beat) at 115 bpm.
Is that correct Gabriel?
It will take me a looong time to achieve that speed. But I'll keep trying.
Gabriel Leopardi26th March 2008That's very strange. Maybe you should restart you pc.
NoPayneNoGain25th March 2008I'm having a malfunction for some reason hearing and feeling the notes at that speed right now.
NoPayneNoGain25th March 2008and is each measure 4 beats?
