Hey GMC!
It's time to get low!
Come and join me for a beginner's lesson on Drop D tuning and some basics on how to play in Drop D.
Tonality: we'll be using the D Dorian mode
Chord progression:
Vamp on D for the first section:
D5, C5, G5 (x2)
Equipment and Sound: I used a Telecaster with single coil pickups on the bridge pickup setting, ran it into a Line 6 UX2 Studio and POD Farm. Used an emulated Fender Bassman amp and an emulated Tubescreamer. I used a rotary speaker simulator in POD Farm on a very low setting to add some texture to the sound. Then added compression, delay and reverb and recorded into Garageband. I also added a little more compression and reverb in Garageband.
Tuning:
A 440 Standard
