  • Hi GMC! Welcome to the second modern metal lesson. In this one we'll work with cleaner and also more extreme stuff in the style of bands like In Flames, Bullet for my Valentine many others like them. These bands are very influenced by 80's metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. They usually use chorus and delay in the clean arpeggio parts and two guitars harmonized in the heavy parts.
I used Dropped D tuning for this lesson because it is one of the most used tuning in this style of music. In the clean part we'll use sixth chords and different inversions. In the heavy part we'll use power chords and speed riffs that have to be played using alternate picking.

    Key: Dm
    Tempo: 110 bpm

    See you!
