That's great to hear!!
Great exercise indeed
It has improved my accuracy and coordination a great deal ever since adding it to my technique routine.
You're very welcome, let me know if you need anything else.
Thank you, Muris ! I had actually bookmarked that lesson so I could be able to start learning this one ! You are very helpful !
great Job Muris, very useful exercise
I'm not really sure what you mean by how
but you can pick anyway you want, all upstrokes, all downstrokes,
mixing, doesn't matter actually cause there is plenty of time
for any of those options,
just be sure to pick ONLY first note on each string.
So how should I pick during the legato parts? The video confuses me.
Alex, you can work on those pull-off here.
Starry Manhattan Rain, there's a thread.
Nice one Muris!
Hey Muris, awesome lessons as always!
Awesome guitar too! What are the specs? Sorry if you've already answered this in your board, but I haven't been around for a while, so if there's a thread could you post the link?
Oh, sorry, I actually meant pinky-finger, but I guess my ring-finger could use some work-out too
Very useful Muris:)
Very interesting lesson Muris!!! Legato is my favourite technique!!! And alternate picking too, and sweep picking too and...hahah
Thanks Trond.
Nice one
Alex, ring finger is kind of attached to pinky and it's not
fully independent to it takes some more practicing
to get totally in shape, sort of speak, glad you like the lesson.
Cool lesson!
Another great lesson Muris and very useful! This is something I need to work on!!! Thanks!!
Great lesson as always Muris, I love the backing!
Hey, I find I can do some level 5 things quite well, but I guess pull-offs are my great weakness in guitar playing. Especially my ring-finger is a real weakling, so I just practice some of this stuff !
Very nice lesson, once again, Muris !
useful lesson Muris.great job
Red, if you have any problems with it
please do let me know!
Cool lesson, not only for beginners!
very cool exercises!
I just realized how bad i am at legato, it seems like i am an beginner again..
Great job Muris!
Thanks guys, glad you've found it useful!
Nice lesson Muris First lesson with new guitar!
Looks even more pleasant than your "older" one, IMO.
great lesson. i was looking for beginner lagato lick that sounded good enough to inspire me to practice legato for a long time now.
Great lesson Muris - very useful concept !
Great job bro
Great lesson, sounds great to
Great lesson Muris!
Very useful lesson Muris!!
Great lesson! I definitely need help with my alternate picking, so the upcoming lessons in this series should do me well.
Nice lesson, very useful for beginners !
This should prove very useful Muris, great job man.
Very useful. At this moment I am working on a legato piece (part of the intro to Sails of Charon) and I sometimes get frustrated with it and just alternate pick it. I think this lesson will be perfect in developing patience for developing legato. Thank you very much!
Hi GMCers!
Today's lesson is for all our beginners out there and it's gonna help you with legato and picking at the same time. The idea is very simple as we play same lick twice using legato and then picking.
You'll notice that your muting would have to change or adapt for one of these technique and that's good test to prepare us for clean and articulated improvising later on.
Tempo is 80 bpm, it's in key of D tho it modulates into key of Dm near the end, 4/4 bar.
For my tone I used Guitar Rig 3, ask for the preset in my Instructor Board if you need it and I'll post it. :)
Cheers!
