Hello GMC, hi Muris
Lesson 9 years old, I like it , I work on :-)
It's very relaxing... Great!
cool dude
great music! your sound is spot on!
Ahh, first couple of notes ARE almost the same, agree!
But the chord ain't, here we have Bm
and Bumps On You is E.
It's just the first bar that sounds like the riff that starts around 0:19 in Bumps On You the rest is not anything like it
Well, I'm not sure if it sounds that much like Bumps On You,
maybe rhythmical pattern or som,
Yes, here it is I just heard your tune "Bumps On You" and recognized it
And I heard this lesson almost two years ago
Very useful stuff! Thanks Muris! I also like the tune!
That was very kind,thank you.
I am again impressed by your skills and musical versatility !
Cheers
Really love this one, funktastic
Not sure what that means
but I guess it has something to do with Funk
Funkalicious!
Glad to hear it,you're welcome!
love it, love it love it! thanks muris
You're welcome Torben,
feel free to ask if you need any assistance.
This lesson is pure fun! I totally enjoy it. It's hard to make it flow (=get the groove?), but I bet it's simply down to practice, practice, practice. As always. Thanks a lot for this one.
Thanks and welcome to GMC.
In short lines,it's simple clean sound, those pickups are humbuckers
but I used neck pickup splitted which is almost the same as single coil.
As for EQs,boost highs a little,cut lows,mids are basicly flat,depends of guitar/amp.
Great lesson, love the style. Could you let me know how to set up my amp and guitar to get the sound you have? Cheers
Thanks Nick!
great lesson muris!
Appreciate it a lot, thank you, will do my best in future tho!
Muris, you're still the best. wonderful rhythm, this is groove
Absolutely,thanks for input,my fault,fixed
Hey muris- slight tab error i believe, should video 2 tab end with A note on D string? (7th fret)
Nice stuff Muris, simple and very effective at the same time. Master work.
reminds me of older incubus stuff a bit. love funk. this is going on my list of things to try.
Keep it funk guys,anytime!
man...!!! i love this lesson..! muchas gracias amigo..!
Thank you for this lesson Muris,
this sounds so great AND improves my timing so much!!
Thanks !
Yeah,MusicMan is awesome guitar brand tho I havne't touched mine since I've got my new custom.
I love that sound soooooo much, beautifull Muris, really !!! think im going to buy a Music Man guitar too !!
Thanks Juan
It sounds very cool !!! Great lesson Muris
Thanks guys!!
Dojt, you said it right, solo lesson that goes after it has some jazzy feel inside
Great! I can also feel it little jazzy
Excellent! This should really help me in loosening up my right hand B
Thanks,appreciate it!!
Nice stuff Muris, loved the SRV cover and others at the Cafe
wow that is an awesome song! can't wait to start learning it.
Nope
Again,Pandora straight into audio card
Pedals... ?
Pedals... ?
Thanks Boris
Yeah, when I started to record it I ran out of bateries for the light pick so I grabbed Dunlop 2 mm.
I prefer fat picks,no matter which style I'm playing.
And you're right,it's all about right hand,it needs to be fully relaxed.
Also, important is to feel this groove which is actually 6 of 16th notes in one beat.
Now,just play 1st,3rd,4th and 6th of them with down,up,down,up,down,up etc
It'll give you right motion for grooves and rhythm chops like in this lesson.
Tell me if you need anything else
Cheers
Muris
What pedals are you using!?!?!?!?!
Muris, the more I watch the video, the more I'm convinced its all about the right hand. Could you provide some guidance? Obviously the hand has to be relaxed. But as far as specifics, I noticed your not using the light pick, what pick, and gauge are you using for this stile playing? Any insight you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Boris
Great lesson Muris!
Thanks guys
John, those licks you mentioned are great for this kind of groove.
Jazzy,funk,blues,fusion...borders are way too small.
Cheers!
Hey Muris, this is GREAT! Exactly what I was looking for! I look forward to the next step
Very nice lesson!!!
You kept me in suspense sense yesterday in chat, and it was worth the wait
Should you use some quick double-stops to get the jazzy/funky feel ?
- John
Pleasure is all mine guys
Solo stuff over it is on its way,so stay tuned
AHHH, awesome!
OMG thats so cool gotta love some really cool funk!
Great work Muris!
Thanks Boris
This is really hard to answer...it comes with the time for sure.
I've never listened to funk that much, but I've played it a lot.
As you said,it IS all about groove.
When you feel it,licks are just all around you
Muris, those are some serious chops. Very fluid and effortless. Love the groove! Btw, how many years/hours does it take to acquire chops like that?
Boris
Thanks,will be!!
David,it's still just Korg Pandora into audio card
